Our History
A few years later, in 2001 and 2002, another scabies outbreak occurred in a second gorilla group but fortunately there were no deaths that time outbreak was recognized quickly, allowing for rapid intervention. Gladys recognized quickly that, to protect mountain gorillas, we must ensure that local communities living close the gorillas remain healthy.
